Bye Bye Byrd-ie
Seattle - This just in, former Cy Young (season 2) winner Clint Byrdak was placed on waivers and claimed by Fargo. Byrdak had been the face of the pitching staff in Seattle since the beginning. Byrdak was placed on waivers strictly for financial reasons. He would have been tough to move with still $4M + left on his contract for the year and his declining skills. He has flashed some skills of old, but has been absolutely rocked on the road. Not sure how he'll hold up in Fargo or what role he'll play, but the Salty Dog Organization wishes nothing but the best, and can't wait till they come to Fargo this summer to get a chance to face him. By saving $4M on Byrdak and other deals the 'Dogs are looking at going after some arms to upgrade their starting rotation, and may be willing to deal some of their better positional prospects to do so.
